Why am I having problems with the Excel startup folder in Windows XPJuly 10, 2020 by Anthony Mellor
We hope this guide helps you find out where the Excel startup folder is located in Windows XP. In Microsoft Windows XP, usually the path to the XLStart folder is: C: \ Documents and Settings \ username \ application data \ Microsoft \ Excel \ XLStart.
Do you want a specific program to run every time you start Windows? Perhaps you created your own program or downloaded something from the Internet. In any case, it is relatively easy to add a program at startup in Windows XP.
There are two main ways to do this. One of them is to add a shortcut to the EXE file in the Windows Start folder, and the other is to use scheduled tasks. In this article, I will explain how to use both methods.
Add Programs To The Startup Folder
This is my favorite method because it is simple. To do this, go to the following directory on your computer:
User can be All users or a specific user. If you want the program to run for a user who logs on to the computer, go to the "All Users" folder. If you want to run it only for a specific user, select that user and go to his home folder.
Now find the program to start when Windows starts. Make sure you are looking for an exe file. Now just right click onthis exe file and select "Create Shortcut".
That's it! Now restart your computer and you will see that the program starts automatically as soon as you enter Windows! Pretty simple like that!
Create A Scheduled Task
The second way to add a program to run on Windows XP is to create a scheduled task that launches the program.
The wizard starts. Go ahead and click Next. First you must select the program that you want to run at startup. The list is displayed automatically. However, you can also click Browse and select a specific one.
Click Next, then choose when to start it. In our case, we choose When I connect. You can also choose when to start my computer. However, this means that it can be loaded even before you enter Windows.
Click Next and enter the password for the administrator account. Be sure to enter the password, otherwise the task will not be completed.
Click Next, then click Finish. That's all. Your task will now appear in the list of scheduled tasks. Reboot toa computer, and the program should load correctly.
So, here are two easy ways to add Windows XP launchers! If you have any questions, write a comment here and I will try to help. Enjoy it!
