How to fix udf ISO-13346 file system?August 25, 2020 by Logan Robertson
The Universal Disk Format (UDF) is a profile of the specification known as ISO / IEC 13346 and ECMA-167, and is an open, vendor-independent file system for storing computer data for a wide variety of media. In practice, it was most commonly used for DVDs and newer optical disc formats, replacing ISO 9660.
the car is brand new. 64-bit Win7 Enterprise. The problem I am facing is that I am trying to download some versions of Visual Studio (original 2010 and 2008 retail versions) on a new computer. However, none of the drives will automatically work on my local drive. internal DVD player. Everyone has a readme file that says, "This CD contains a 'UDF' file system and requires an operating system that supports the ISO-13346 'UDF' file system specification."
I know the disks are good because I used them on my old computer and I can still use them on other Win7 computers I've tested. I also tried the real Win7 Pro installation CD as another silly test. I still don't read.
The real feature is that I can plug in an external USB DVD drive ... and then the installation discs will start playing on the local drive! It's like this action activates something else in the car.
Moreover, I even restarted the computer in diagnostic pmode (no external DVD drive connected) ... and when I restarted the local drive read the installation discs. BUT when I shutdown completely, I reboot the machine, local disk gives me the same readme file. Again, it is as if something is activated and then reset on full shutdown.
I don't know what to check next. A real headache because I know the drive is working and the computer can recognize the drive and even read the installation discs.
